VERO makes it easy to choose the audience for each post.
On the “Share With” screen (accessed after you have composed a post), you can choose to share the post with Close Friends (the default), or broaden the audience to “Friends”, “Acquaintances” and “Followers”. Tapping “Private” allows you to either post something to yourself or select individual recipients for a particular post (only Connections will appear in this list).
Your « Connections » will see posts you have made available to their corresponding loops. When you choose the Followers/Public (binoculars) loop for your post audience, that post will appear in the recipients’ feeds and, it will be visible on the web at Vero.co/username.
In your Settings, you can manage your privacy options at any time.
- Allow People to follow you On/Off
- Allow Connect Requests On/Off
If “Allow People to follow you” is OFF: other users won’t be able to follow you. Your existing followers will be able to see the older posts that you shared publicly, but you won’t have the option of sharing posts with Followers. Your account will be Private and you can only share posts with your connections. However, if you wish to share a specific post with your followers occasionally, you will have to turn “Allow People to Follow You” back on, and create a post including them and then disable it again.
If “Allow People to follow you” is ON: you have the option of sharing posts with Followers as well as your Connections. These posts will be visible to anyone visiting your profile on VERO but also on the web version of your profile. If you don’t wish your public posts on VERO to be visible outside VERO you can turn this off in Settings by disabling “Show Posts On Web”.
If “Allow Connect Requests” is OFF: users won’t be able to connect with you. Your existing connections still see your content shared with them but you won’t receive Connect Requests from anyone except from people whose phone number you already have.
If “Allow Connect Requests” is ON: Any user can send you a Connect Request. If you accept it, you will be connected and you can then place that person in one of the three loops (“Close Friends”, “Friends” or “Acquaintances”) and the option to send them Direct Messages in VERO Chat.
